Yom Teruah/Rosh HaShanah is the anniversary of the day Yah created Adam and Eve. As instructed in Numbers 29, we do no work and blow the shofar to awaken our souls and connect to Yah as our King. Taking place after the harvest season, it is considered the beginning of the agricultural cycle. It ushers in the Days of Awe: 10 days of introspection when we atone for sin and idolatry and renew our bond to Yah. Prophetically, it represents the return of the Messiah!

Preparing for Passover

If you would like to have items ready to participate on Zoom:

Search for chametz (leavened items) and get rid of them. Also clean your house, especially the kitchen, to get rid of traces of leaven. To be truly observant, clean all surfaces, stove, oven, dishes, and utensils with boiling water, cover surfaces with foil, and consider using disposable dishes and utensils.

Gather:
- wine or grape juice
- seder plate (see post for details)
- candles
- matzoh-at least three pieces (buy or make-see post for recipes)
- napkin or something for afikomen
- spice box
- basin and cup for handwashing
I thought it might be fun to hide candy around the house as well as the piece of matzoh for afikomen! That way everyone gets a prize!
