We were instructed by Yeshua (Jesus) to do Passover in remembrance of Him. He shared the third cup and the bread and made the connection to his life and death as part of God's overall plan. We would never again need the animal lamb on Passover, because He became our sacrifice. Passover would now become a time to remember, not only the rescuing of the Hebrews from Egypt, but all mankind from sin and death.
After Yeshua's crucifixion, early Christians continued to observe Passover as instructed. At some point, this as shortened to a communion ritual. This leaves out so much rich symbolism and meaning. Communion isn't necessarily wrong. But if we don't observe Passover with the additional meaning Yeshua added, we are missing out on a great opportunity to connect with Him and what He did for us in the context of the entire story.
