Chose a special scripture or write a poem or prayer to share with everyone!
Make a besamim/spice box: Place spices such as cinnamon sticks, allspice, whole cloves, and aromatic leaves such as bay, eucalyptus, mint and pine needles into a box, jar, or bag.
Fill a bowl partway with water and have a cup and towel nearby for urchatz and rachtzah/ritual cleansing. No soap is used :)
Make your own havdalah candle (different from other ritual candles) by cutting a sheet of beeswax into three strips, laying a wick on the edge of each, rolling the strips starting with the wick side, then braiding three together. You may need to warm them slightly in order to braid them by dipping them into warm water. Careful not to make it too warm or the beeswax will melt!
Place a pretty cup or glass (with or without a stem) on top of a plate. When you pour the wine or juice for kiddush, you should fill the cup to the brim and let it spill over a bit!
Bake your own matzoh! See recipes in another blog post.
Make a pouch for the afikomen by folding a towel, cloth napkin, or rectangular piece of fabric in thirds. Unfold one of the thirds. Sew the sides together on the 2/3 that are still folded. Now this becomes a pouch for the afikomen with the unsewn 1/3 as a flap for closure.
